From: typingcat on 8 Feb 2006 21:13 There's an .ODT file (OpenOffice Writer document). If I send it to other people but they don't have OpenOffice installed, is there any viewr for odt? I know OpenOffice itself is a freeware but quite big to download and install. Many people wouldn't do that just to read some ..ODT occasionally. MS Word has its own viewer. So OpenOffice Writer has a lightweighted viewer? Second, is there any way to download specific feature of it? Say, I've installed English version of OpenOffice, yet I want to install spellcheckers for French and Japanese which are probably included in French and Japanese version of OpenOffice.

Accordingly no viewer is needed for OpenOffice Writer. > Second, is there any way to download specific feature of it? Use File -> Wizards -> Install new dictionaries... to get the latest versions of any spell-check dictionaries, hyphenation dictionaries, and thesauruses that you wish. Jallan |
