Non-*.ctl Control File Naming Convention
To all, I had a vendor tell me yesterday, that it was a good idea to name all of your database related files *.dbf, including control files. This immediately set off a red flag as it violates OFA. Anyone doing this, and if so what is your rationale? The vendor said it made UNIX find commands easier.?!? The ... 15 Jul 2008 14:22

I removed the job, and then I wanted to clean out the statspack tables. After doing so by simply running "delete from perfstat.stats$snapshot" (and having rest... 15 Jul 2008 14:22

Every night, the prod db is exported to a dump file using expdp, and then we use impdp to import the schemas, one after the other. The export (5GB) is done in about 30 minutes... 23 Jul 2008 14:19
