From: ClockworkMouse on 16 Feb 2006 11:23 Hello all, I want to animate some organic looking lines (i.e. like watching vines growing / curling interweaving etc) and was wondering if anyone has tips or shortcuts to getting some great looking results. I've tried tweening one shape to the next but it just get's blurred in between frames, I've tried covering the line and reviling it from behind a white movieclip via a motion tween, but then it's hard to get loops. So any help would be very useful at this stage
From: ufitzi on 16 Feb 2006 11:34 try using motion guides, draw some basic lines and have objects follow those lines. Guides can be tricky to attach to the intended object, so do some reading in the hELP documentation in Flash, they should have some examples of guides. Good luck
From: Chris (mudbubble) on 16 Feb 2006 11:39 check out this technique: http://www.mudbubble.com/db_tutorials/db_tut_write2.html you can apply same thing to already drawn vines - i did a similar project (flash website) for http://www.fiveriverswinery.com/ (not live yet but very soon) that features animated vines and flowers growing all over the place. ****************************************** --> Team Macromedia --> www.mudbubble.com --> www.keyframer.com --> http://www.macromedia.com/devnet/flash/articles/animation_guide.html --> http://groups.google.com/advanced_group_search?q=group:*flash*&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8 ClockworkMouse wrote: > Hello all, > I want to animate some organic looking lines (i.e. like watching vines growing > / curling interweaving etc) and was wondering if anyone has tips or shortcuts > to getting some great looking results. > > I've tried tweening one shape to the next but it just get's blurred in between > frames, I've tried covering the line and reviling it from behind a white > movieclip via a motion tween, but then it's hard to get loops. > > So any help would be very useful at this stage >
From: abeall on 16 Feb 2006 11:49 For an organic feel, I would suggest using frame-by-frame animation. Either use a mask and draw a bit every frame, or do the method where you erase a bit of your drawing a bit each frame, then reverse frames(select frames in timeline, right click, reverse frames)
From: ClockworkMouse on 16 Feb 2006 13:51 Thanks for the advice / tips looking better so far.. if anyone has any other suggestions to help it look a little more fluid I'd be grateful ;)
