From: Mike on 12 Feb 2005 07:33 I can not log into my Outlook. Here are some of the symptoms and resolutions attempted. First, current config. XP pro ( sp2 ), Office Outlook 2003 ( sp1 ), Mcafee Firewall and Virus scan ( firewall disabled during this excercise and email scan turned off). Symptoms: When I open OL2003, I receive a network password screen. I type in password and receive 0x800ccc92 error message. ISP and I have confirmed all the settings are correct. I can log in to receive email from their webmail access point. Also, If I create mail, the outgoing mail will be sent although the network password screen will not accept my password. I just can't receive my mail in OL 2003. The password in email accounts is saved some of the times and disappears other times. Resolutions: I have modified the registry entry several times as suggested by Andreas here. I have deleted and recreated email accounts and profiles. I have run Packetmon trace from analogx. I have turned on troubleshooter log. Calling all outlook gurus and experts
From: Mike on 12 Feb 2005 07:41 One more item. I have two email accounts with ISP. Use Outlook for work and OE 6 ( sp2 ) for home. OE is working perfectly. From: Mike on 14 Feb 2005 08:45 Update: I created a 2nd XP user in Windows with Admin rights and outlook is working perfectly for that user. I suspect I have a corrupted file with my original OL 2003 with my first user ID. Question: Are there some files I can copy over from the working OL2 2003 that will solve my Network PAssword Request screen and 0x8000ccc92 error ? I really don't want to have 2 user ids in XP and have to switch to check email. "Mike" wrote: > One more item. I have two email accounts with ISP. Use Outlook for work and > OE 6 ( sp2 ) for home.
