Just installed Office 2007 for the first time on a fresh install machine and
configured three pop3 mail accounts but Outlook 2007 is considerably slower
than 2003 when checking for new mail. Does something else need configuring?

Can someone help please?

Have you installed all the patches & updates for Office 2007? I seem to
remember performance increasing after some/all of them.

Yes, Office 2007 SP1 installed. Maybe I need other updates?

Check on Microsoft Update for additional patches/fixes - there was a
specific fix from last year for performance. It may not be included in SP-1
since it was not a bug fix.
