I have an Abit AW9D-Max mobo and an Intel E6600 2.4 Ghz Core 2 Duo
processor.

I would like to overclock the CPU to around 3.0 Ghz. What would I want
to set the bios settings to in order to get this reasonable overclock?

Is there a Web site out there with more info on this for Abit boards?

Thanks in advance.

You raise the CPU clock frequency setting just like you do with any other
CPU. I don't know how they show it in the bios, but the real default
clockspeed is 266MHz. That is what they should show. And unless you've
bought super high speed ram, you'l likely have to adjust the base speed of
it down by up to 66MHz. DDR2-800 ram has a 200Mhz clock. In fact, with
intel P4 and later, anytime you want the real clock speed and not the
bogus speed they give, just divide it by 4.
