From: Scott Smith on 19 Mar 2007 14:38 I have an Abit AW9D-Max mobo and an Intel E6600 2.4 Ghz Core 2 Duo processor. I would like to overclock the CPU to around 3.0 Ghz. What would I want to set the bios settings to in order to get this reasonable overclock? Is there a Web site out there with more info on this for Abit boards? Thanks in advance. - Scott Smith: scott(a)sludgereport.org Sludge Report: http://www.sludgereport.org Blue States Rising: http://www.bluestaterising.blogspot.com

I don't know how they show it in the bios, but the real default clockspeed is 266MHz. That is what they should show. And unless you've bought super high speed ram, you'l likely have to adjust the base speed of it down by up to 66MHz. DDR2-800 ram has a 200Mhz clock. In fact, with intel P4 and later, anytime you want the real clock speed and not the bogus speed they give, just divide it by 4. > Is there a Web site out there with more info on this for Abit boards? > Don't know. -- Want the ultimate in free OTA SD/HDTV Recorder? http://mythtv.org http://mysettopbox.tv/knoppmyth.html Usenet alt.video.ptv.mythtv My server http://wesnewell.no-ip.com/cpu.php HD Tivo S3 compared http://wesnewell.no-ip.com/mythtivo.htm
