Hi, I have a 20GB Ipod which has been working fine with Itunes on my PC
(running XP). All of a sudden, though, Itunes doesn't recongise it. I
can find it on the PC and the Ipod itself says Do Not Disconnect and
appears to be charging, so they physical connection seems to be there
(I've tried this with the firewire and USB connections and neither
works).
I have updated Itunes, but when I try to update the Ipod itself using
the Ipod updater, once it's downloaded, the updater either comes up
with all of the options greyed out or I get an error 1327.Invalid Drive
D: while it's trying to download (the Ipod's firewire drive is E)
Any ideas on what could be wrong with it? I'd really appreciate any and
all help.

Thanks, Lynn

Can't offer any help except to say you're not the only one.

40-gig iPod/Windows 2000. The thing got flaky, then a few days later couldn't
connect at all - even as a disk drive.

Fooled around with it (reinstalled it's system about 3 times, reinstalled
iTunes....and so-forth) for about four weeks; finally broke down and bought a
60-gigger when I found how much it would cost to repair.

Got the 60-gigger home, loaded it up..... thought I'd give the 40-gig one last
try and....guess what?.... Worked like a charm.

That was two months ago.

Just last week the 40-gigger got weird on me again.

I'm guessing something with Windows 2000.... maybe something in an automatic
system update...

The iPod hasn't crashed has it? I had this problem on XP, then I
realised the iPod needed resetting.
