I'm currently writing (complete actual pear manual) for PHP_CompatInfo
and changes for the new API 1.8.0

In such condition, you can see changes :

1. once a week (on sunday) with new version of PEAR manual [1]
2. 2 hours (or less) after modification on site of TAKAGI Masahiro [2]
3. 2 hours (or less) after modification on site of Brett Bieber [3]
4. almost immediatly on my site [4]

It's under writing, especially the "Getting started" section.

Feel free to send me your comment if you want to improve what will be
finally your UserGuide.

If you are to shy to post a mail ;-), you've also ability to add a
request report on PEAR bugtracker and attach to roadmap 1.8.0 [5] or
wait when final version will be released : on August 1st.
But have in mind that I won't be so active (after August) as today to
fix problems.
