Standart Pocket IE returns "Address is not valid. Check the address and try
again." on any non-local query.
It is no connection issue.

Check the Connection settings.
Find in folder Windows the file welcome.exe and execute it.

Serega :)

1. As i wrote it isnt connection problem. Checked with opera and other
software.
Tested with GPRS, Wifi and usb/cradle.
Hostnames resolves without any problems. But PIE return this error on query
with ip or dns - this is no matter.

2. Welcome.exe was tested before i start this thread. No any changes on PIE
work.

ext 3. I understand what problem can be resolved with hard-reset. But i want
to find out the core reason of this bug.

I have, from time to time, experienced similar behaviour and eventually
traced the issue to a mysterious proxy server that has appeared
intermittantly.

(This is on WM5, btw. I don't know how much is applicable to WM6). Look in
Start > Settings > Connections > Connections > Proxy Settings, and see if
the option "This network uses a proxy server to connect to the Interet"
option is selected.

If it is, and the proxy isn't something you put there yourself, clear the
selection of the option and try again.

It's a shot in the dark perhaps, but your issue reminded me of issues I've
experienced, and this method worked for me. (I still don't know where the
mystery proxy came from, though--it's nothing that was installed or
configured on either machine I sync to, so it doesn't appear to have picked
it up from ActiveSync.)
