From: Victoria Heisner on 4 Dec 2007 12:57 I posted this to another newsgroup, but apparently, that group isn't very active.... I've had a Pilot M105, a Sony Cli, and now a T|X and I must say that the more expensive T|X is just the worst when it comes to writing recognition. Over the past 3 weeks I've had 2 different machines and they both have exhibited the same symptoms. For the first several days (not even a week), graffiti will be great with only one or two letters wrong. Then parts of letters will start "falling off" so that it looks as though I'm using a pen that is nearly out of ink (and, for instance, an O can be interpreted as either a C or V, depending on. where it drops out, and a W is usually interpreted as l.v). Then, lines will shoot out from the stylus tip so that I have no idea what letter will come out (an O I just wrote came out as a D because the line shot up at the end). Then it will keep getting worse until the machine is useless. My stylus stroke is really light until things go downhill, and then I'll sometimes have to press hard to get the correct letter to register. I don't write hard but I write a lot - I usually do several crossword puzzles and send a bunch of e-mail over the course of several hours each day. Has anybody else seen this? What is going on? Is there any fix for this? Thanks, Vicki

Same here. Using a heavier pen [*] instead of the palm stylus makes recognition better. Using software like teal script changes from graffiti two to one, but recognition stays poor. best regards Olaf [*] I cannot remember where I bought it from but it is one of these "four colour pen": Pencil, red ink, black ink, stylus

In our last episode, the evil Dr. Lacto had captured our hero, Victoria Heisner <pheisner(a)shoreham.net>, who said: >Has anybody else seen this? What is going on? Is there any fix for this? All three of my TXs had this problem, among others. --hymie! http://lactose.homelinux.net/~hymie hymie(a)lactose.homelinux.net ------------------------ Without caffeine for 400 days ------------------------ |
