From: bdlong on 1 Feb 2008 23:26 I have done a google search and tried a variety of things, but nothing is working. Scanner - Brother MFC 6800. Can scan through "scanners and cameras" and the "Smart UI" which comes with Paperport 8SE. However, everytime I try to scan inside of Paperport it gives me an error message: "problem communicating with twain device". I have completely uninstalled the Brother and the Paper port software. Went into device manager - showed the hidden components and deleted anything related to the scanner. rebooted the workstation and reinstalled everything. The scanner is working properly, so what gives with the Paper port program? Any suggestions? thanks

If not run the Scanner Setup Wizard, it should be in the Start Menu along with Paper Port. Are you sure that the brother scanner has a TWAIN interface and you are not using the WIA interface? -- CSM1 http://www.carlmcmillan.com --
