Anyone who knows of a great password manager software for smarthphone
running WM5?

It needs to be strongly encrypted and shall be able to sync between a PDA
version and a PC version. Possilbility to edit/enter data on either PDA or
PC with foloowing sync update also required.

Today i use Password Agent from Moonsoftware (for PC only), and it would be
great if this database can be imported into new PDA/PC manager.

I like SplashID from www.splashdata.com. It has a desktop program and an
Activestink link to your PPC, so it is constantly updating. Both
interfaces (fairly simple) are the same (or damn close to it.) The whole
program is password protected (256 Blowfish.) It lists for about $30

Just some rambling thoughts with respect to wm5 which contain no
concrete information.

Prior to wm5, the ppc password was very secure with respect to any data
kept in "main memory" afaik, there was no way to recover a lost
password and no action other than a hard reset was available to regain
access to the device.

A hard reset on ppc os's earlier than wm5 would irrevocably erase
everything in RAM, meaning password protected contents in ram were very
secure.

With wm5, "main memory" is no longer erased on a hard reset. I'm not
aware of the new password schema with respect to this change, so, I
suggest further discussion to help clarify the scope of wm5 password
protection and prompt those of you with high security needs to review
the safety aspects of your data.

Even if the user password survives a hard reset, I also assume that the
user data exists in flash memory which would remain accessable in
extreme cases by accessing those chips directly.

You might wish to check out a freeware program called nyxPassword
Storage at http://www.nyxbull.net/products/nps12.php. It has both a
desktop side and of course the PDA side. I'm not sure if it works on a
Smartphone, but it is worth a try.
