What anti-virus application or security suite is installed and is your
subscription current? What anti-spyware applications (other than Defender)?
What third-party firewall (if any)?

Has a(another) Norton or McAfee application ever been installed on the
computer (e.g., a free-trial version that came preinstalled when you bought
it)?

Your post's headers (Outlook Express 6.00.2900.2180) tell us that you're
running outdated & much less secure versions of Outlook Express (and
possibly Outlook), Internet Explorer and WinXP. Check in at
http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com ASAP & get the computer fully patched (if
you can).

You have to login before you can load Outlook.
You claim that you cannot log into Windows.
Explain how you managed to load Outlook without logging in.
