I just clicked on "Reply Group". From the message compose window I have the
following header fields, which I can copy from:

Newsgroups:
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress,microsoft.public.windows.live.mail.desktop

New Message

Are you trying to copy from the basic reader, from the address bar between
the message list, and the message view pane? That doesn't even work in MS
Outlook Express.

Right in this newsgroup message...

Open the message in WLM.

Then Copy and Paste the Subject Line with the mouse = Joy.

Try to Copy and Paste the Newsgroup Line with the mouse = No Joy.

Whereas in OE I can do BOTH.,

I'm trying to find out why.

Does it have something to do with preventing bots from harvesting
addresses? -- because email addresses also cannot be copied and pasted with
the mouse in WLM -- but they can in OE -- from an OPEN message.

OR perhaps I need to tweak some obscure setting in WLM?

Unthreaded duplicate? How are you doing that?

Are you editing in the Outbox by any chance?
FYI you need to set Work Offline before trying that;
otherwise the copy in the Outbox goes out before
your revision. However, AFAIK that would still
show a References: header...; so, this is almost a sign
that you reposted a message from your Sent Items?

Please don't do that. This thread cross-posted and all
is getting complicated enough. ; )

[crosspost to WLM NG removed]

Robert, please don't feed this troll! If you're interested in how he makes
"unthreaded duplicates", check the NNTP-Posting-Host line in his headers.
