Does anybody here beside myself find this to be a great sounding plug but
extremely annoying to use? My best sounding reverbs are some IR's I got from
Jim Rosenberry (480 L and many more high quality responses) but one instance
in an aux bus can really start dragging down a dense file. I will add
destructively sometimes but rarely do I get it exactly right on the 1st go
round which makes it a very time consuming process. Has anybody tried
running a convolution reverb on a dedicated machine? Is that even feasible?

I haven't noticed any issues with using PerfectSpace in terms of resource
hungriness, but maybe my files aren't all that dense or something. I tend
to mostly use the provided impulses from the "real spaces" section,
typically on my room reverb aux bus. It would be rare for me to use more
than one instance as the whole idea (i.e. for me) is to try to make the
instruments sound like they're in the same room. I also generally have a
separate vocal reverb, but I almost always use Lexicon Pantheon for that,
and sometimes also a special purpose reverb for other tracks, but, again,
that would typically not be PerfectSpace in my case -- more likely either
another instance of Pantheon, PSP EasyVerb, or Waves RVerb.

I'd be real interested to see you try those IRs from Jim in something like the free
Impulse reverb "Sir"
http://www.knufinke.de/sir/sir1.html

It's quite possible that it's much more effecient.

I was going to ask the same thing. I used SIR back when it was one of
the only games in town and got used to the interface. I like it better
than PerfectSpace. I haven't tried the latest version but I will...

I tried SIR on a somewhat dense file where perfect space worked ok. Sonar
crashed instantly. I went to the setup menu in SIR and tried the alternative
setting and again Sonar crashed instantly. Then I tried it on a simple file
with just stereo acoustic gtr. It worked fine but wasn't as tweakable and
didn't sound as good as PS IMO.
