I am using Excel 2007. I have pivot tables that seem to have a mind of their
own with regard to formating. I would like to get it formatted, and have it
not change on refresh/update. I have chosen the option to "preserve
formating on update" (box is checked), but that appears to be a placebo box.

Any ideas how to lock the format and not have it change in 2007?

Hi patk,

in pivot table options layout and format did you uncheck the box
autofit column widths on update?
