I have _heard_ Time Machine won't work wireless, unless you buy Apple's product. Something to consider, a side point: if you are like me, the local hard drives on your computers are not nearly enough to store all your photos and movies and music. My setup is an external 1TB FW HDD (LaCie d2 Quadra), and I use Apple's Backup 3 program. I was really please with how easy this tool was to use. Presently, it daily backs up local drive stuff from my iMac and MBP to the LaCie, Documents and Personal Settings stuff, and once in a while, my local iTunes folder. My all my vast repository stays on the LaCie, and I access it from there. I used iPhoto Library Manager to pull libraries from the LaCie, for example. But how do I protect against the LaCie failing, you ask? With a second LaCie, with which I weekly backup my primary LaCie backup disk! And I take THAT LaCie to work. Something to consider. -- Dan Stephenson Photos, movies, panos from the Europe, USA, plus N.Z.: http://homepage.mac.com/stepheda (remove nospam from email address to reply via email)
