From: David Kennedy on 1 Feb 2006 03:09 I've tried now with Safari, Netscrape and Firefox and it would seem that someone has found a way to defeat the pop-up blocker. Go to www.pollstar.com and there's no problem. But navigate anywhere on the site and, Bling, up comes the pop-up. Anyone know how I can block this ? [Please don't tell me to use Opera] -- David Kennedy http://www.anindianinexile.com

If you go to their site they [purport] to give you the option to avoid their advertising - naturally, it doesn't work. -- David Kennedy http://www.anindianinexile.com

Add that hostname to the localhost line in your /etc/hosts file, which will cause all lookups for that host to return 127.0.0.1. I think a lot of ad blocking tools will do something similar if you don't feel confident in editing /etc/hosts. Cheers, Chris
