I'd like to implement a pop-up menu using transparent backgrounds but I'm not
sure how to implememt it. I know how create and export styles to the Nav Menu
styles and that seems to be working but the ones I add are difficult to
identify in the Styles thumbnail list and they seem to be applied as a texture
to the generated pop-up button images anyway.

Any suggestions on how best to implement this? CSS or image buttons are fine,
but I'd like to expliot the Fireworks pop-up menu editor as much as possible.

Which FW? Honestly, you'd be much better off doing this with something
besides FW.

Fireworks CS3.

What do you recomend? Fireworks menus integrate relatively easily to
Dreamweaver templates which is why I'm using it.

Even CS3's popup menus are not optimal, in my opinion.

I usually do them this way -
