Make sure amavisd-new is actually up and running on port 10024
What does "telnet 127.0.0.1 10024" reult in?

BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /usr/bin/amavisd line 139.

How do I go about fixing this?

You install the missing modules, however one does that on Mac OS X.
