It is now a different computer - reinstall and build Windows from the ground up. -- Cheers, Ben
From: Sue Morton on 7 Apr 2008 13:14 A "repair install" might work. I've not tried it for this purpose, though... YMMV. -- Sue Morton Ben Goldman wrote: > Kevin K wrote: >> Note: I did not reinstall Windows. From: Steve Karl on 7 Apr 2008 14:22 I went from a 4000+ to an X2 4200+ dual core ( and then back ) with no issues other than I didn't see the 4200 as being stronger than the 4000. That's why I switched back to the 4000. I suspect your mother board might be the issue or a bios update. Make sure your MB can run an X2 4200+ Steve "Kevin K" <Strascak(a)roadrunner.com> wrote in message news:47fa11b6$0$30699$4c368faf(a)roadrunner.com... >I had an extra AMD Athlon 4200+ dual core and intalled it in my backup system which previously had an AMD Athlon 3500+ single core. >This is on a system with Windows XP Pro SP2, updated with all udates.
