I am trying to install the shockwave player on a Windows ME machine. It goes
too fast in the installation, and then does not show up in the list of
programs. I am trying to download it so my daughter can play games on Cartoon
Network's website. Any help would be appreciated, she always wants to use my
machine.

The flash and shockwave players are different things. You posted in a
flash developers forum, but mention the shockwave player so I'm not sure
which you are having problems with. There are support areas on the
macromedia site for both players which offer solutions to most installation
issues:

One of the more common flash player issues at present is installation being
blocked by overzealous ad and/or pop-up blocking utilities, but hopefully
you can solve your issue by working through the support info.
