I contacted HP (via live chat) about where I can get drivers for my
psc 1210 all-in-one printer. They told me to use the printer
installation wizard, select USB001 or DOT4_001 port from the list, and
then select HP Deskjet 990c from the printer list. Does that sound
right?

I just want to know if those drivers will work with my printer. Any
ideas? I know a lot of people have had problems with the psc 1210 so I
just want to make sure things don't get screwed up. I'm not really
sure I can trust HP, the person I chatted with seemed more like a
robot than a person. And if it's as easy as using the 990c drivers,
why don't they just tell people that on their website? Seems odd to
me.

Also, I forgot to ask HP, but when should the printer be connected?
I'm supposed to use the add printer wizard, so do I connect the
printer before I start the wizard or after?

No, That does not sound right. You should be able to down load the
driver you need from the hp website.

Go here;

http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/support.html?pageDisplay=support&jumpid=in_R329_prodexp%2Fhhoslp%2Fsplit%2Fsupport

Type in your desket 1210, select you Operating system, download and
install the driver. Leave your printer off when you do the install-you
will be prompeted to turn on your printer and connect the usb
cable....good luck!!

I should've stated in my original post that HP doesn't have only the
drivers on their website. They have the full software package, which I
don't want. I just want the drivers, and that software package doesn't
offer the option of doing a custom install.

I tried using the 990c drivers and it didn't even work. I contacted HP
again and they're completely clueless.

I'm wondering whether I could use the basic drivers for one of the
other all-in-one printers. Any thoughts?
