I have the Dell Axim 50v. Some applications does not have an exit button.
I just click on the X to close the window. This leave the application
running in the background and I have to go the memory service and close the
programs there.

Is there a better way of doing this? Why don't programs like Internet
Explorer have an exit button?
Is there an program I can use to manage it from the desktop without having
to go to the memory application to close them?

Thanks,
Jasper

Try Wisbar Advance - it's a skinner and has several great functions
(like choosing if you want to close or leave in the background,
battery viewer, etc.):

It's not a bug, it's a feature ;) I.E., this is by design.

SPB Plus will do what you want.

<Ctrl-X> will also close most applications.
