Is there any way to cut/move project 95 from an old laptop to windows xp and
make it work? I did this and it said application failed because
commtb32.dll was not found and to re-install. Well the disks are long gone.
Any suggestions?

Very very unlikely especially since you do not have the install disks.
Project95 has not been supported by Microsoft for at least 8 years.
I think you would make better use of your time and money by picking up a
newer version. I see Project 98 selling for $30 on ebay.

Project 2000 is probably as late as you want to go as I expect you still
have old project 95 files you need to read.

Eric,
You say you want to move old Project 95 files to a different computer
running Windows XP. The WIndows operating system has nothing to do with
Project, it's the version of Project that you have on the XP machine
that matters. If you are trying to set up the old Project 95 files on
the XP machine, then Jack's suggestion is your best bet - get a newer
version of Project. However, if you already have a newer version of
Project on the XP machine, then you may still be able to read the old
files depending on which version of Project is on the XP machine.
Project 98 is basically a bridge. It will read older version Project
files and will then save them as Project 98 files which can be read by
Project 2000 through 2003. If the XP machine has a more up to date
version of Project (i.e. Project 2003 or later), you will need to
convert the old Project 95 files.

So what is your real configuration?
