How do we turn off automatic data changes EPM's Project is massive overkill for our needs. EPM would be a terrific tool if we never saw MS Project. We don't need to schedule our staff's every waking minute. We only want to identify a team, set a start and finish date, and record their timesheet hours. We don't want to approve hours, or know how man... 25 May 2008 16:30
Task Hopping I have a two software developers that want to hammer out a schedule for a design project they are working on. We have gone through and identified 31 tasks. Each is Fixed work. We have assigned both of them on each task. Developer 1 puts 75% on every task and Developer 2 puts 50% on every task. The problem begi... 25 May 2008 12:35
Files created in Project 2003 used in Project 2000 File created in Project 2003 crashes when opened and saved in Project 2000. Error message indicates the file is corrupt and not all the tasks will be saved in file. Same file opened in Proj 2003 and then saved again in Proj 2003 works fine. Is the problem with the file or something to do with the different ver... 23 May 2008 15:00

Saving Project files as templates for an earlier Project versi Jack, I'm not sure I'm getting the same results you are. When I did this and then try to use the "template" I just produced by renaming the file, I find it acts like a .mpp, not a .mpt file. The reason I say this is that if I open the ".mpt" file, and then save it, there is still only one file in the folder.... 23 May 2008 17:04
Saving Project files as templates for an earlier Project version. I have Project 2007, but I'm working in an environment where most people have Project 2003 (they don't know what they're missing!). I created project files and saved them as Project 2003 format, so some of my customers can use them. Unfortunately, although I can save .mpp files in the 2000-2003 format, I don'... 23 May 2008 11:55
identify date cost incurred Using MSP 2007 Pro. I have set the baseline for a task and now I need to enter the costs that have been incurred. I have 2 invoices for the past 2 months and would like to enter them individually but I can not figure out how to do this. I can enter the total actual cost but not the specific amounts. How do I do... 23 May 2008 10:54
Project is calculating the Finish Date incorrectly... Does anyone else have this problem? When I open a new project and start from scratch. I go to enter a Duration of X amount of days, lets say 3 days. Then I enter in the Start Date of 5/1/2008, for example. The finish date that is calculated automatically ends up being a majorly incorrect date. Instead of... 23 May 2008 22:43
