Firefox apparently keeps its bookmarks in
~/.mozilla/firefox/qtwepx1a.default/bookmarkbackups
as bookmarks-2008-07-20.json or similar. This appears to be some sort of
comma-separated format but it's all on one line.

Is there any way to convert that to HTML? That's what I do with
Konqueror's XML bookmarks, using an alias of keditbookmarks. Then I make
that HTML my home page. I have lots of bookmarks, and the pulldown menus
can get darn fiddly. This way I can use 'Find' and 'Enlarge Font' which
is important as I get older. In the old days Netscape saved bookmarks in
HTML directly.

Thanks for any help you can give. This is the only thing that is keeping
me from using Firefox.

Firefox stores its bookmarks in
~/.mozilla/firefox/*.default/bookmarks.html

Firefox saved bookmarks as an html file before version 3. The
"Organize Bookmarks" window in Firefox 3 allows you to export the
bookmarks as HTML. You can search bookmarks by using the sidebar. You
can put your most often used bookmarks in the Bookmark Toolbar folder.

Elsewhere, I recall seeing mention that there is an
option/preference item or tool/command button in Firefox 3
that exports bookmarks to HTML. I can't confirm that,
though.
