From: Mace on 29 Jun 2008 15:49 Hi, It's my plan to make this cable: http://sta.c64.org/xh1541c2.html But I don't get where to lead th GND from the parallel plug to? Just connect the pins and leave them unconnected? Or should I connect to a GND elsewhere? Or should the pins be connected to the shield of the cable? It's confusing me... ---Mace

I am NO expert, but doesn't the table say to leave 18-25 and GND of the parallel plug "not connected" ?!?

Although I must admit that I have no idea what the heck a XH cable is, I will state that for all the other X41 cables that I have seen thus far, PINS 18-25 are ALWAYS GROUNDED! So if there is some specific reason as to why the cable would not need to be grounded, I might suggest that you contact the designer and ask about this. Charles

Read the important notes here: http://sta.c64.org/xh1541.html Actually you have to build this, because the serial bus lines need to be connected too: http://sta.c64.org/xxh1541c.html But maybe the parallel port of your PC is not compatible with the X1541 cable?
