I was wondering what SD cards (brands and max capacity) work with the
50G?
I tried to use the one that came with my camera but it doesn't work,
I'm now looking for a new one.
Is it true that the 50G only recognize upto 1GB cards?

thanks for responses

SDHC cards will not work. Any standard SD card should work (2GB cards
too). I use an old 128MB card, never came close to filling it, and I
do a lot of C development and store all my very large binaries on SD.

If your card is a standard SD card and you still have problems then

Does the camera card type say "SD" exactly,
or is there any slight difference?

What capacity and brand?

It's been reported that there are "junk" (and counterfeit) cards,
but no "SD" card that I've used have ever not worked.

I have the following SD cards:

Verbatim 256MB
Sandisk 1GB
Kingston 2GB

All working fine. I had problems with the 2GB card when trying to use
hpgcc programs, but this has been solved by the HPGCC developers some
time ago.
