From: NK on 14 Jan 2006 15:36 Has anyone out there noticed a serious playback issue plaguing quicktime 7 in which the entire .mpg file does not playback? I've tried running all of the system updates to see if that would rectify the situation, but all to no avail. Is anyone familiar with this situation and does anyone know how it can be corrected? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Nishan

MPEG2 needs a special codec which you buy from Apple.

QuickTime Player is fussy about the timecode in MPEG files. Often a MPEG file is made by just concatenating smaller file together without fixing the header to encompass the new longer MPEG. You can fix MPEG files by using MPEG Streamclip <http://www.alfanet.it/squared5/mpegstreamclip.html> Use the "Fix Timecode Breaks" in the "Edit" menu, then save the file.
