From: cmacachor on 11 Nov 2007 18:19 I develop courses in Authorware, which include questions chosen at random from among several quiz interactions. For example, only 20 questions are presented at a time from a possible 200 questions. Each time the user goes to the quiz, a different set of 20 will be presented. Can this be done in Flash MX 2004, Adobe Captivate, or Acrobat Connect? I am transitioning to either Flash or Acrobat Connect, or Adobe Captivate, from Authorware in view of Adobe's announcement to discontinue further development of Authorware. My choice will depend a lot on which one has the closest functionality similar to the Decision Icon properties in Authorware, without need for complicated scripts.

In fact Captivate 3 has an extensive quiz engine, including randomisation and question pools. Flash is a powerful tool. You can get it to do as you describe, but you will have to code the randomisation yourself, whereas Captivate will do most of it for you. Check out my article on Adobe.com, it might give you some further info so you can understand if Captivate can be a worthwhile tool for you. http://www.adobe.com/devnet/captivate/articles/authorware_cp3.html Steve -- Adobe Community Expert: Authorware, Flash Mobile and Devices http://www.magnoliamultimedia.com
