From: bcantlay on 16 May 2008 11:56 Very new to Project but am having trouble figuring out the best way to do this. I would like to allow everyone involved in a project to have read access to the projects gantt view. As I understand it now, the individuals can see their tasks but not everyone elses. Can I add this to the projects workspace? - I would also like to show a read only calender view here that anyone could look at to see what is going on throughout the building. People here don't realize how their work affects others and while they can see the task immediately before and after theirs they just don't realize how everything is affected. As I said, I am new to Project and just in a testing phase, but would appreciate any suggestions.
From: Jack Dahlgren on 16 May 2008 12:41 You can control what users see by setting their permissions in PWA. An easy way to do this is create a role which has the appropriate permissions and adding that role to all your users. -- Jack Dahlgren Project Blog: http://zo-d.com/blog Macros: http://masamiki.com/project/macros.htm "docendo discimus" "bcantlay" <bcantlay(a)discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:3CA6E1FD-1136-4629-B1C5-8DBCFC0C5746(a)microsoft.com... > Very new to Project but am having trouble figuring out the best way to do > this. > > I would like to allow everyone involved in a project to have read access > to > the projects gantt view. From: bcantlay on 16 May 2008 13:55 Thanks for the reply. I think your way will be much more admin friendly than what I might have done otherwise. Still not sure how to get user #1 to see all the tasks for the project, not just his/her own. Thanks again.
