Hi,
Is this really true? @#%$&*(^%

Please say you are mistaken......please.

My morning is shot. But if true I will not return my HD, but keep it
for over flow materials.

G4/400 with AGP graphics. Your Mac can boot from a FW drive.

Only for the models with PCI Graphics, as I've explained in another
post, not for the models with AGP Graphics.

ATY,Rage128Pro:

Chipset Model: ATY,Rage128Pro
Type: Display
Bus: AGP
Slot: SLOT-A
VRAM (Total): 16 MB
Vendor: ATI (0x1002)
Device ID: 0x5046
Revision ID: 0x0000
ROM Revision: 113-72701-130

I thought this means I have AGP graphics.
The PCI slot shows: "No information"
Ignorant I am, but can you tell me if this Mac is AGP or PCI from this
info?

Beverly,
At last one who says I should be able to. But, it does not. And no one
can seem to come up with a reason why.
I am told all FireWire HD (external) are bootable.
It fails two tests. First, restart from Preferences>startup Disk (the
external is there) Click on the External and hit restart. It does
restart, but on the internal HD.
Second test. holding down "option" and start. Only the internal HD come
up on the screen.
It would seem that my machine will not recognize, for reboot purposes,
the HD. Needless to say it is on the Desk Top and can be accessed.
I've been told that this machine has a "Yikes" mother board and that
particular board will not handle a reboot.
I wonder if the machine will reboot from a second internal HD?
