From: Melodious Thunk on 25 Jun 2008 14:09 I no longer program, but I have several old ResEdit files from the 80s & 90s that I'd like to recover PICTs, ICONs, SNDs, and TEXTs from. What tools could I use to do this under Leopard? Also, I use a G5; will there be any problems with the above formats on an Intel machine (which my kids have)? Thanks!

Their "using OS X?" link is broken. Melodious, it looks like ResFool should do the job-- see <http://www.ljug.com/sw/resfool.html>. I haven't tried it though. -- Tom "Tom" Harrington Independent Mac OS X developer since 2002 http://www.atomicbird.com/

Wouldn't FileJuicer excel at this kind of thing?: <http://echoone.com/filejuicer/> -- Please send all responses to the relevant news group rather than directly to me, as E-mail sent to this address may be devoured by my very hungry SPAM filter. They don't seem to mention resource forks on their web site, but an app like that might get them anyway. -- Tom "Tom" Harrington Independent Mac OS X developer since 2002 http://www.atomicbird.com/
From: Melodious Thunk on 25 Jun 2008 20:09 Thanks for all the help. ResFool seems to satisfy my needs. FileJuicer only handles PICT and TEXT, but sure handles them easily!
