Video config messed up
I kind of messed my video config up by choosing the wrong graphic driver. How do I reconfigure by the command line in Fedora 8? I found some suggestions on the Internet, but nothing worked. Fedora 8 Desktop ?
I was wondering if someone might be able to tell me how activate the Desktop Effects. It will not enable every time I try it. I assumed it was driver problem, but I downloaded and installed the lasted NVidia drivers for my graphics card per a web site I found, but it does not make much difference. Z.K. ... 9 Dec 2007 23:44

old redhat (7.0) won't let me log in
hi all i just installed redhat 7.0 on my old computer and it won't let me login. when i type the password no characters appear: is that normal? anyway, is there a fix for this or should i just throw the computer away? any help would be very much appreciated. peace stm ... 9 Dec 2007 23:44

Fedora, kppp, and PAM
Just did a fresh install of Fedora 7 on my laptop. As usual, when I try to run kppp it asks me for the root password. That's because kppp goes through consolehelper which uses PAM. Some releases back I found an incantation on the web to change pam to let an ordinary user run kppp. But things changed after that... 9 Dec 2007 23:44

Hi Guys Thought I would give fedora 8 a spin Downloaded a dvd image from the fedora project site However after bootup it asks me for a username and password During the instal I was asked to input a password for the root directory but that's not what it wants?.
