From: ArchAngel on 15 Apr 2008 17:35 I am running XP on this machine, but i have a computer downstairs running 2000. i lately have been exploiting the CMD commands, but i still cannot remote shutdown the computer. it tells me "access is denied". any reason why? any way to fix? thanks in advance, C

I could be wrong, but I think that this was one of the patches when the Sasser virus was out. Not sure if there is a work around.

Solution: Establish the appropriate user rights on all computers that you must remotely manage. Being able to shut down a computer locally does not mean that you have the right to shut it down remotely.
