I was trialling Web Viewer for WM5/6 on an HP iPAQ 112 running WM6. As part
of the trial I ticked the option to make it the default browser. I
subsequently deleted the program, but it did not return default browser
status to Internet Explorer. I reloaded the Web Viewer, unticked Web Viewer
as the default Browser and deleted it again. This also did not return default
browser status.

I then used Pocket Tweak to re-assign Internet Explorer as the default
browser for HTML files, but when tapping on an HTML file it sends Internet
Explorer into some kind of loop with the (correct) contents in the address
bar flashing and preventing access to anything else on the iPAQ. The only way
to get out of this loop and regain control of the iPAQ is to do a soft reset.
By the way, it correctly displays the on-board home page (HTML) when loading
Internet Explorer directly, but it goes into the loop if you refresh the page.

Do you have any ideas on how to correct this problem and recover Internet
Explorer?

Hard reset the device.
