From: OttoBufonto on 21 May 2008 13:31 Hi, I have a few Project07 plans where I have split the resources into differnt domain groups (customer, vendor, etc) In the gantt chart view I can filter by resource groups and see all the tasks that assigned to that group unfolded, and the other tasks are rolled up. But I only want to see the tasks assigned to the group, and none the other - and as a result see the rolled up work total only showing the days associated with the selected group. Right now it always shows the total work days off all resources, irrespective of the filter. I'd like to have one plan that can show the effort of all the customer resources (and those only), the vendor resources (and those only) and the combined overall work.. Can this be done? TIA, OttoB
From: JulieS on 21 May 2008 18:21 Hello Otto (and Ulrich?) Instead of filtering, trying grouping the project by Resource Group. Choose Project > Group By, More Groups, New. Name then group as you like and in the first Group By row, select Resource Group for the Field Name. You can select to group in Ascending or Descending order. Applying the group this will temporarily sort the tasks by resource group and show a summary group row for each resource group (customer, vendor, etc.) If you add the Work field to the view before you apply the group, you can see total work for each resource group as well as the information for each task the resources from the group are assigned to. <OttoBufonto(a)gmail.com> wrote in message news:4540e4b9-e2b5-486d-b502-61ade7c8bf18(a)27g2000hsf.googlegroups.com... > Hi, > > I have a few Project07 plans where I have split the resources into > differnt domain groups (customer, vendor, etc) > In the gantt chart view I can filter by resource groups and see all > the tasks that assigned to that group unfolded, and the other tasks > are rolled up. > > But I only want to see the tasks assigned to the group, and > none the other - and as a result see the rolled up work > total only showing the days associated with the selected group. > > Right now it always shows the total work days off all resources, > irrespective of the filter. > > I'd like to have one plan that can show the effort of all the > customer > resources (and those only), the vendor resources (and those only) > and > the combined overall work.. > > Can this be done? > > TIA, > OttoB
From: OttoBufonto on 22 May 2008 04:20 Hi Julie, Thanks that helps a lot. (not quite what I was hoping for, cause I seem to loose the task hierarchy, all tasks are on same level.) But extremly helpful to breakdown the individual work. Otto/Ulrich/Markus/Dolly/.... :-)
