From: David Glover on 13 Sep 2005 07:01 Now we all know that there are several OS X apps floating around for copying music off your iPod. Can anyone recommend one that works well? There seem to be a lot to choose from. Bonus points for one that restores the entire iTunes library including things like ratings and playlists, if at all possible...

I can't remember whether I did it with the terminal or in Finder, but if you look for the hidden folder called iPodControl on your iPod, it contains a folder called Music, which contains a whole load of f-numbered folders. These contain your music. Also see http://www.engadget.com/entry/7166385640773718/ - it talks about Macs after the Windows stuff. > Bonus points for one that restores the entire iTunes library including > things like ratings and playlists, if at all possible... Hah! I wish. If you find one, please post back. -zoara-

The answer to a maiden's prayers! Well, not me, obviously, and not the client, she has a delightful 3 year old called Ruby, but I did need to know that one can slurp the music out of an iPod. The client's iPod has been compromised by a visitor who plugged the iPod into a Windows machine (some people should *not* be invited back!). Thanks -- regards hugh hugh at clarity point uk point co (by the sea) (using Hogwasher) You never can truly tell when you have run out of invisible ink.
