So far as I can tell, this > is not a function available in OpenOffice. Could it be added? I too would desperately like to see such a thing added to Open Office. I've been using a variety of word processors back to the days when you had to run Wordstar on the same 360K floppy your documents were located on. I've also been a heavy user of Ventura Publisher, and then WordPerfect. For long documents I loved VP, but I liked WordPerfect 5.2 (that was the last DOS version, right?) better -- certainly more versatile and much more user-friendly about saving documents. The ability to get in and FIX the codes when you needed to was one of the best things WP offered. I liked the way WordStar did it better, but that was a LONG time ago and I gave it up for WordPerfect because WP could handle proportional fonts before WordStar could :-) Removing the formatting is NOT the same as being able to actually see it. It may be noted that the only reason I'm NOT using the latest WP for linux (old, but who cares?) is that I can't orint directly to my cheesy Samsung laser printer with it -- I have to write a separate postscript file and then print that file. -- Cheers, Bev \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ "He who joyfully marches in rank and file has already earned my contempt.
