From: mcp6453 on 27 Jun 2008 10:30 Is the SATA connector on a 2.5" notebook drive a different SATA connector than is found on the 3.5" desktop drive? I need to copy a notebook drive, and the connector at least looks different. If it is different, where can I find a suitable SATA-to-IDE or SATA-to-SATA adapter cable? I already have a SATA-to-IDE adapter for 3.5" internal drives.

Arno

Even the connector spacing from the bottom and right edges of the drives is identical on both types.
