From: natsun on 8 Jan 2006 08:23 As a newbie can anyone help please? For some reason whether it be locked or unlocked even....... I am unable to gain access to the Kingston SD cards that I have and format them using a multi card reader due to write protection being on. Is it possible for the PDA to write protect without one knowing....... if not what could I have done via the PDA to write protect? How do I remove the write protect? I use a MITAC 168 DIGI WALKER WITH Pocket Windows 2003, this eems to be straight forward and also on the cards it has folders on there which I never created........ one of which is "ignore my documents" Can anyone tell me if they have had any problems like that, and also which in their opinion is the easiest way to get the cards formatted? Many thanks and a very happy 2006 to all......... I move to Spain in the next couple of months. Steve
From: Peter Nowak on 10 Jan 2006 20:26 Try to get a cardreader (if you don't already have) and format it. Mostly the formatting helps and solves these kind of problems. From: natsun on 11 Jan 2006 15:47 Hi Peter, Tksvm for the help......... managed to sort it and format via simple TRUST multi-card reader....... don't know why the card went up the duff in first place, so my mate has copied a cd with all the details on it. My GPS Europe maps were installed on the second card and yet they had just "disappeared". But thank you for your help.
