From: nerdy123 on 19 Feb 2005 16:49 I am baffled-after totally new XP install still get same error when trying to access a site that was easily accessed before. This is a DNS error, tried pinging (http://195.96.170.34/) doesnt work, they (the hosts) suggested trying http://195.96.170.34/test and this works perfectly. Can anyone help, the hosts tell me it is a local system problem. I do not have Zone Alarm. Rob
From: DLink Guru on 19 Feb 2005 21:17 WSAHOST_NOT_FOUND 11001 Host not found. No such host is known. The name is not an official host name or alias, or it cannot be found in the database(s) being queried. This error may also be returned for protocol and service queries, and means that the specified name could not be found in the relevant database. Thats on microsofts site. It appears the host is having the problem. When I try the IP address I get no site that comes up, but when I add Test I get an HTML that just says Allofmp3 Explorer Server 1.1. The Host is having the problem, not you.
