I know that TLS is used for authentication and encryption, and that one can choose wether to use passwords or certificates. But the whoe SASL thing is new to me. So: 1) How is SASL used compared to TLS? 2) What is the benefit of using SASL as opposed to TLS? 3) Would use of certificate based TLS provide strong enough security in most cases? Regards, kenneho
