It gave an error message when trying to download a PDF from a website (something about being unable to download the file--and the Activity window indicated an error), but it downloaded it anyway and displayed the file. However, it was impossible to print the file. What fixed it was going to Preferences in Adobe Reader. I chose the Internet category and unchecked the box that said to display PDFs in a browser using Adobe Reader (the plugin, apparently). Using Safari's built-in PDF capability works fine. No more error messages, no more inability to print the file.

Well, there you go. Throw it out! PDF reading is built in to Safari. The "suddenly" was probably Adobe installing the plugin.

Without the Adobe plug-in, how could I fill out a PDF form online?
