[Samba] chdir (/root/tmp) failed - but why is it trying? I'm seeing this in the log.smbd file for v3.0.28a. [Samba] using Windows DC in security = server mode We run Samba, but wish to authenticate against Windows DC. We do this using the "security = server" mode. We don't have the option of being part of the Windows setup directly. Although authentication is done against Windows DC (so users are not prompted for passwords) users do need a Unix account to use the ... 15 Apr 2008 13:57

[Samba] findsmb inconsistent results... what gives? When I run "findsmb" on my ubuntu machine, it returns inconsistent results; when it works correctly, it will take about 10-15 sec to scan and returns all the computers on my WLAN that respond to this type of request. But sometimes when I run it, it just immediately outputs my own machine, and quits. It does not r... 15 Apr 2008 13:09 |
