Is a HD3850 AGP definitely/noticably faster than a X1950 Pro? Assuming I want to stay AGP right now for reasons that are my own, would the performance be a worthwhile boost? Thanks...
From: First of One on 6 Jan 2008 01:56 The HD3850 AGP hasn't been benchmarked yet, though we can expect performance to be similar to the PCIe version. You can compare the HD3850 PCIe against the X1950 Pro using the Tomshardware VGA charts: http://www23.tomshardware.com/graphics.html . Anandtech shows the HD3850 to be generally faster than the X1950XTX. http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=3151&p=9 All this, of course, assumes you got a decent CPU installed on that AGP motherboard. -- "War is the continuation of politics by other means.
