From: Kit on 19 Aug 2005 12:03 SuSE 8.2 Browserhawk seems to have gone away. Opera 6.03 Can log in but my personal account page as displayed is unusable. Text on top of text etc. Konqueror 3.1.1 Email & password boxes on homepage have zero height so cannot login. Firefox 1.0 Can login, see my personal account page, click to go to page for entering meter readings, get there but the boxes for the readings refuse to take a text cursor. Any other Scottish Power customer have better luck?

Similar - I used firefox 1.0.6, (in suse linux). I can login, although the initial login button was not visible, and for whatever reason I was then given a login again page, more easily used, it worked. Also as you found, I could not get the cursor into the entry boxes for reading entry figures. However, bright idea, I tried a mouse right click and 'paste' into the position in one field. It entered something, which I could select and delete. I did not go as far as trying a realistic numeric, that would be the next step. BTW I have informed SP that since I cannot access their site, I will unfortunately have to change suppliers, probably soon. And that is going to happen. -- ac

London Electricty website seems accessible, plus their customer services number is 0800. It's amazing how much more quickly they answer the phone when they're paying compared to ScottishPower. Owain

The correct values appeared in the boxes and then seemed to be accepted; here's hoping. This might have worked in SuSE/Firefox as you suggested.

I happened to try something today. Firefox (1.0.6) (Suse 9.3) I saw on the firefow top menubar something saying View - Page Style - no style, basic style And the default was basic style. So - I chose no style, and I was able to at least see the login fileds, and logged in ok and actually enter some test readings (I did not confirm though). The page formatting is rubbish of course but it looks more hopeful than previously. -- ac |
