Installed Centos 5 on USB Drive I installed Centos 5 on an external usb drive and everything went smoothly but now when I boot without the USB drive attached it displays GRUB in the upper left hand corner and just sits there. Do I need a new initrd? If I want to compile (and then boot into) a new kernel, is it necessary that I make a new initrd too? Or can I stick with the (working) initrd that came with my Linux distribution (SuSE 10.3), which has been working just fine? (SuSE 10.3 installed a 2.6.22.5 kernel, and I want to compile a 2.6.25.6. no boot sector on usb drive I've installed Centos 5.1 Linux to a USB drive and have set my laptop to boot from the USB port. When I select the USB Drive as the boot device it displays "No Boot Sector on USB Drive" then procedes to boot from my internal HD with WinXP. Debian netboot problem on Sparcstation 20 Has anybody succeeded to start the Debian 40r3-Sparc-Netinst CD (Etch 20080218-14:33) on a Sparcstation 20?
