When you try to add an ActiveX control to the cast and select the Shockwave
ActiveX control (Two are listed both create the same result) then Director
terminates immidiately. This only occurs if Shockwave 11 is installed. I've
tested this on Director 11, Director MX 2004, and Authorware 7.02. All of them
crash when trying to reference the Shockwave 11 ActiveX. Previous versions of
Shockwave do not exhibit this issue.

Can someone tell me as to how to resolve this issue? Or at the very least
confirm that it isn't just a fluke of my curent machine?

Thanks in advance,
Joe

Jey Joe,

as long as I remember that combo would crash.

Also with all previous shockwave versions I tested. I dont remember
which versions those were, but my first attempt must have been at
least 5 years ago.
The last time I tried was a few months ago, when I thought of it as a
last attempt to try to make something work.

Its obviously something you should not do.

Can you not just link the movie instead?

Richard.

Hey Richard,

Thanks for the response. Unfortunately the applications in question require
this type of functionality. I am not sure why it never worked for you but it
should work with Shockwave 10.3.0.24 and several versions before that. (You
can find the old Shockwave players at
http://www.filehippo.com/download_shockwave/3732/). I believe it's an issue
with how this version of Shockwave was constructed but I am not sure.

Hoping for a solution,
Joe
